Business Women Have Come A Long Way

You better look out, because while the U.S. economy has a ways to go to turn itself around, there are plenty of women driving the bus in the right direction! Check out our infographic for more details.

According to an Ad Age article, women now bring in half or more of the income in 55% of U.S. households. What’s more, women account for 70% of all privately held small-business start-ups — and have over the last 15 years! A far cry from 1979 when we were making just 62% of what men earned. That’s when people started collecting this kind of data. Back when Gloria Gaynor was the only one belting out the cult hit, “I Will Survive.” Little did she know. Women haven’t just survived, we’ve thrived!

The number of women in the workforce has grown by 44.2% over the last 25 years, from 46 million in 1984 to 66 million in 2009. One-fourth work part-time, and three-fourths work full-time. That’s a lot of women carrying business cards!

Not bad, but we can do better. Today, women make up nearly half the labor force, in some occupations women are being paid more than our male counterparts, and more of us our graduating from high school and college. Not just more women, more women than men. It’s all documented in our Infographic.

Heading into this election season, when you hear the politicians start talking about the economy, listen closely to what their saying about women and the affect we’re having.

So what say you? Our Infographic points out the highlights, but there are still plenty of areas where women have their work cut out for them.

What do we say? Since I’m a woman and the president of 123Print is a woman, of course we say, “You go, girl!”

We just ask that you give us credit for putting the stats together and creating the infographic. And if you would be so kind as to add a link back to this blog, even better. Thanks!

Sneak Peek!

On Saturday, I had a photoshoot with a group of young ladies from our local middle school.  I can't wait to finish editing these so I can post them all - in the meantime, here's a sneak peek (all but one are straight out of the camera - no editing yet).

These ladies were amazing to work with - they were funny, polite, articulate, and beautiful inside and out!  If you happen to stop by and view these, please leave me a note in the comments section and let me know what you think!

One Baby Boy

I couldn't post about the six baby girls without posting a few images of this adorable little guy!   Both he and his momma are so beautiful!

6 Baby Girls

Brand new Life

It's been quite a while since I've posted, but I have kept very busy!  Over the course of the past year, I've had the pleasure of photographing a lot of babies!

These six beautiful baby girls are new additions to this world, and I cannot be more pleased with the fact that I was among the first to take their photographs (after their mommies and daddies, of course!)
